ZFA provides training, education, guidance and resources to students and community organizers seeking to introduce an authentic Zionist narrative into the discussion surrounding Israel. We work to empower activists to advocate on campus and in their communities for the historic, legal and moral rights of the Jewish people to self-determination.
ZFA Campus Chapters
ZFA campus chapters work to educate the student public to the historic justice of the Zionist endeavor. While polarizing voices claiming exclusively “pro-Israel” or “pro-Palestinian” positions have come to dominate the discourse on many campuses in recent years, our unique approach offers students an opportunity to engage voices from all sides of the political divide in order to better understand the complex issues currently facing the indigenous peoples of the Middle East.
ZFA offers a fresh alternative to “Israel Advocacy” that helps students to think outside the box and place Jewish liberation within the greater context of political and social currents both within and beyond Israel’s borders. Rather than defend and/or explain Israeli government policies, ZFA primarily aims to educate college students to the inherent justice of the Zionist struggle and to the legitimate rights of the Jewish people to self-determination in the Jewish homeland.
ZFA Campus Affiliates
In addition to officially recognized ZFA chapters, many small Zionist student groups looking to maintain their local name and branding undergo our unique training sessions and organize ZFA programs on their campuses.
The affiliate model was created as an expression of ZFA’s opposition to the homogeneous corporate structure currently dominating nearly every walk of life in North America, from restaurants and coffee shops to book stores and pharmacies. While the affiliate model is generally less effective than a ZFA campus chapter in promoting our message of Jewish national rights, it allows a local student group to retain its operational and ideological independence while introducing an authentic Zionist narrative on campus.
ZFA Young Adult Chapters
In recent years, ZFA has expanded beyond college campuses to spread our message of Jewish rights to a slightly older demographic. These initiatives, led by veteran ZFA student activists together with young professionals and artists from the entertainment community, work to raise awareness for Jewish national issues through the arts, music, entertainment and nightlife.
Active ZFA branches are currently working on campuses and in communities throughout North America. Our team of organizers is always ready to establish chapters and train activists in new locations.
