The Zionist Freedom Alliance is a grassroots initiative asserting the national rights of the Jewish people and the historic justice of the Zionist revolution. Comprised of thinkers and activists from across the political spectrum, ZFA promotes fresh perspectives on attaining justice, liberation and peace for the indigenous peoples of the Middle East.
Perceiving a void in the contemporary discourse surrounding Israel, ZFA was established in 2006 with the goal of introducing an authentic Zionist voice that effectively champions Jewish national rights while embracing open dialogue and presenting a critical analysis of Israeli government policies.
While polarizing voices claiming exclusively “pro-Israel” or “pro-Palestinian” positions have come to dominate the discourse in recent years, our unique approach offers students and community activists an opportunity to engage voices from all sides of the political divide in order to better understand the complex issues currently facing the indigenous peoples of the Middle East.
ZFA offers a fresh alternative to “Israel Advocacy” that encourages people to think outside the box and place Jewish liberation within the greater context of political and social currents both within and beyond Israel’s borders. Rather than defend and/or explain Israeli government policies, ZFA primarily aims to educate the public to the inherent justice of the Zionist struggle and to the legitimate rights of the Jewish people to self-determination in the Jewish homeland.
ZFA provides training, education, guidance and resources to students and community organizers seeking to introduce an authentic Zionist narrative into the discussion surrounding Israel. We work to empower activists to advocate on campus and in their communities for the historic, legal and moral rights of the Jewish people to self-determination.
ZFA serves as a Zionist voice promoting freedom, justice and peace within the context of fulfilling the Jewish people’s national aspirations. As a movement that advocates Jewish national liberation, ZFA believes in and promotes the rights of all indigenous peoples to achieve self-determination in their native lands.
